Vive la France ! The French are coming...

Following my Imperial British forces, I decided that they will be opposed by valiant French and possibly dastardly German armies. The French will have at least one heavy cavalry unit in the form of Carabiniers, available as a superb Italeri 6003 set.

Further planned units include among others:
Voltigeurs de la Garde Imperiale [Emhar 7211],
Légion étrangère [Italeri 6054],
Zouaves de la Garde [Emhar 7212],
and even more cavalry like Hussars, Dragoons, Lancers or Cuirassiers. So many miniatures, so little time :D

Below Carabiniers from the time period interesting me. Original art from The Armchair General forum post by Zouave: http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83604

New VSF purchases - February

New purchases to start my British colonial cavalry on Mars. Who said camels won't survive on the red planet ? Two boxes of British Camel Corps [2 x 12 camels + riders] and a single box of Egyptian Camel Corps [12 camels + riders] should be enough for a start I think...

War gaming Victorian Science Fiction conflicts with 1:72 plastic miniatures.

Welcome to my VSF gaming blog.
Hope you find something of use here.

I plan to fight my battles with popular [and cheap !] 1:72 scale plastic miniatures if possible.

Rules wise, I bought "When the Navy Walked" as my first Victorian / Edwardian era rule book and I have to say I find it very interesting. The only problem I see is the small issue of converting base sizes and ranges from 1:100 to 1:72 since the rules were designed for 15mm miniatures.

You can learn more about WtNW on their website [http://www.whenthenavywalked.com/] and buy the rules online from Wargame Vault
